1. How my discussion helped my understanding is read it though and you will think '' oh so that is what you mean by that'' you talk how about the story and it reminds you about what you read. You get peoples ideas and their point of view and the people in your group they give you comments and how to make your story better. when people hear your ideas and they may say '' oh maybe you could change this'' they tell you that you could change a couple things in your story.

2. When you are in your discussion group you may have some connections like '' oh that has happen to me before'' so you have some connections in you friends story. Like for an example Jake had to sell his mom things and you would have to do the same because your mom has die and you don't have enough money to go to stay with your dad in Kenya. When you are in your discussion group you may all not like the book and you think Call It Courage was a better book so you agree that you dint like the book so that is what you might talk in you discussion.

3. When you are in your group you will have lots of  predictions that you might think what will happen next and you may think what happens if Jake did this. So your and your group will want to think what will happen next and what will happen to Jake when he goes to Kenya all by him self. When your group thinks and talks to each other and see what the other people think what will happen next in the story and share their ideas with the rest of the group.
